The Skyline Challenge

This is a beautiful and inspiring out and back course covering the Overlook, Pinnacle, and the Tuscarora Trail! The 100% Trail journey starts and finishes at the Cove Campground in  Gore, VA.  The views alone are well worth the trip!

These events would also make a great marathon training race.

Overlook Trail

The Overlook Trail is a beginner level trail consisting of old fire road. It is ¾ of a mile long, has approximately 600 feet of elevation change, and a view west over The Cove.

Pinnacle Trail

The Pinnacle Trail is a beginner to intermediate level trail consisting of jeep access trail and connecting to the Tuscarora Trail . This trail is 2 ½ miles long with approximately 1500 feet of vertical elevation change and a view over West Virginia with 7 ridges visible on a clear day. Please note that there is foot traffic only beyond The Cove property line.
